Update

Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of moving so I apologize for the delay in posting. :) I'll be sans internet while I get everything together. I hope you don't forget about me!! Also, FYI I've started a new blog called Corporate Free Christmas.

"It is predicted that holiday shopping in the US will exceed 98 BILLION dollars this year. In times of economic distress, energy crisis, class gap widening, and perpetual international conflict it is no wonder that millions of Americans will mire themselves in debt in exchange for a cathartic shopping experience. Meanwhile, the holiday season has becomes less about friends and family and more about the acquisition of material goods. Mass produced plastic garbage, junk electronics, trendy clothes, and dangerous toys from foreign countries all clamor for our purchasing dollar...."

I want to encourage people to avoid the big box stores this year. Whether you're making presents yourself, purchasing them from other crafters, or patronizing small businesses in your area I want to here from you! Tell me your story and how you will avoid becoming a slave to commercialism this year! If you believe in the cause please consider linking to the Corporate Free Christmas blog or wearing the banner (or making a new banner since mine isn't all that great.)

I'm so glad you started this new blog. I'm on a Wal-mart boycott for various reasons and was wondering how I'd handle the holidays.

Hi! I'm Pam and I found your great blog via Entrecard.

We're making all kinds of stuff for the holidays this year. I think it's going to be a lot of fun and like last year's homemade BBQ sauce that we gave everyone, I think this years' gifts will be a big hit.

I'm linking your new site on my plates blog - it's a perfect match for what I'm promoting. Thanks!
